I'm on lunch break at the local museum I'm interning with and I realized something kinda cool!
I'm in the middle of a project where I have to review all files pertaining to canes the museum has collected in the last 150 years or so. I am to write my name in the file and sign off that I have reviewed the info and that it's current... blah blah blah
BUT I realized that my name will forever be IN these files. People will look in the files for the NEXT 150 years and see my name. Kinda cool, huh? I'm a history nerd, so I do happen to think it's cool.
Wouldn't you want to be remembered? In 150 years, someone will see my name and think, "I wonder what this person was like..." Nifty ;)

Rain, rain go away
It won't. Stop. Raining. I hate this dreary, cold, wet weather! Walking to classes today and my pants got totally soaked!! My umbrella protected my face and that's about it. At least my mascara didn't run?
What a boring day! Had two classes (the third, my calculus class, was canceled -- yeehaw!) but I feel like I did nothing! Ever had one of those days? You just kind of go through the motions... I wuold categorize this day as "Blah." BUT BUT BUT I hearddd from the weather man that this weekend is supposed to be beeeuuutiful :) Around 80 degrees and sunny! Well, I'm ready! Unfort. I have to work Friday and Saturday, but hopefully I can enjoy Easter Sunday :)
As I was walking around campus, getting soaked and trying not to think about it, I thought about other things...
Like how I really do want to go abroad somewhere. My college offers one to two week programs in the summer and classes are offerend during this time. I would love to do this!! But I missed this summer's deadline... so I'm thinking about next summer, or even better, next winter.
Who has gone abroad? And where? I wonder if it's as great as I'm imagining it would be. I'm sure it is!
Sarge is going to Mexico next month with our grandma. Lucky!! Tonight, she insisted on making oatmeal chocolate cookies. She wanted to make them for LOST, which we all watch together. No complaints here!!

nicknames
Mom: MamaSita, or possibly MaSi, or MS... depending on what is easier to type as I go along...
My younger sister has recently been dubbed "Sarge" (as in Sergeant) by mamasita because she is constantly demanding things and insists on her way. (She is 17, so that is probably the cause of this, but most everyone who knows her agrees she is getting out of control). ANYWAYS, she will be known as Sarge from here on out.
Funny story: or at least I crack up just thinking about this ::::
I (accidentally, I swear) planned a spring break vaca to FL the week BEFORE my actual spring break **oops** So on the [[island inspired]] calendar on my wall, I oh-so colorfully wrote "florida" on one week and "spring break" on the following.
Sarge comes in my room, holding her cat Buttons like a baby, and begins to eyeball everything in my room (she has a tendency for thievery!!). Her eyes land on my calendar and then Sarge begins to question me
S: You're going to FL the week your before break?
Me: Yep
S: Does mom know about this? *raises one eyebrow*
Me: Yes...
S: We'll see.
She abruptly leaves and I can hear her walking towards mamasita's room. I text mom with a warning "the sarge is coming to tell on me" (mamasite has already been informed of my spring break eff up so I'm not worried)
I hear my sister come back from mama's room and I get a text from mamasite "The Sarge insists of fairness"
.....I then die of laughter

Entry Numba One
So this is my first blog. I don't really know where to begin to be honest!
Let's go through what I've done so far today... pretty much nothing.
Woke up at around 11am, which was fabulous
Chatted with my man, CM, on and off throughout the afternoon
Showered
Messed around online A LOT
I really wanted to actually do something today... like start spring cleaning in my room but I didn't know where to start and it's so dreary outside, all rainy and cold.
I made some contacts concerning a summer internship, but it's so close I don't think I'll be able to get one :/
I have class at 5pm tonight (Discrete math, oh joy!) and then I am meeting up with some friends at Chili's. Or possible friends. I don't really know the girls that well - I have an anthropology class with some of them, so maybe I will make new friends? That would be nice :)
See, I just transferred to a new college in fall 2009. I was away at school in another state for two years and absolutely hated it :/ My parents were going through a divorce and my boyfriend at the time wasn't being supportive. Overall, I was just unhappy being away from family. So far, I like my current situation, which is commuting from home to school ( I really really hated the dorms! Too many kids and not enough cleaning). I'm a part-time manager at a retail store in my town and I enjoy it for the most part. I work mostly weekends.
I had an internship at a local museum in the collections department. But I recently decided to end that because I need money and would rather spend the time at work. I wasn't getting paid for the internship and wasn't getting credit for it (I missed the deadline at school because the deadline at the museum didn't match up). My anthro professor said I could fill out the paper next semester, so to be honest, it wasn't worth my time! Not right now at least. I need mula!!
So uhhh. What else?? I am a math major and anthro minor. Odd combo? Some might say. I figured that math is something that could open many doors and I'm good at it. Anthro is something I truly love love LOVE. But felt it was limiting.
